Tetanic disease has particularities that make it unique among all infectious diseases. For example, perhaps not everyone knows that:

- The decline in tetanus disease that has occurred in the last few decades does not seem to have been influenced much by the vaccine, but especially by the improved sanitation of the population and by the more effective first aid interventions in case of risk wounds.
- The scientific literature provides many data on the presence of adequate natural immunity against tetanus; that is, many subjects, even young children, have a protective amount of tetanus antibodies despite never having been vaccinated.
- Before a tetanus vaccination, in order to avoid the serious dangers of hyperimmunization that opens the way to a multitude of damage from tetanus vaccine, the dosage of plasma antibodies against tetanus is recommended..
- Our Ministry of Health has established that a plasma rate ten times higher than that proposed by international scientific studies should be considered as protective (higher than 0,1 IU / ml instead of 0,01 IU / ml), in this way many adequately protected subjects are also unprotected.
