Vaccine Report 2016 - Postmarketing surveillance in Italy

The Report summarizes the post-marketing surveillance activities on vaccines carried out in Italy in 2016.
Unlike the previous ones, in which the analysis was conducted on the reactions that arose in the year under review, this year the Report examines all the suspected adverse reactions included in 2016, including those that arose in previous years, in line with all the data made available by the Agency (OSMED report, RAM report).
In the first section, the suspected adverse reactions observed after administration of vaccines, included in the National Network of Pharmacovigilance.
The trend of suspected adverse reactions by vaccine type was therefore examined.
A focus is dedicated to the impact of the 2016-17 influenza seasons in Italy and to serotype C meningococcal disease in Tuscany 2015-16.
As in previous versions, at the end of the report there is a short list of articles by Italian authors/groups regarding vaccines published in 2016.
