The virus of obligation

The virus of obligation

Episode of Report of 15/10/1998

Compulsory vaccinations are what all Italian children must do, for their own good .... but is it always true?
Why is Italy one of the very few countries that provides for this compulsory? Why do 2 in 100 families refuse to have their children vaccinated? The compulsory vaccinations are: polio, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis B. The optional ones are: pertussis, measles, mumps, haemophilus flu.

The investigation reports a series of testimonies from parents whose children have died or reported severe adverse reactions following mandatory vaccinations. For those few who have decided not to resign themselves to fate, law 210/92 has provided for a refund for vaccine damage. But getting reimbursed is very difficult, and hundreds of people continue to fight for justice, while legislation that makes vaccinations optional fails to become law.
